More and more parents are seeking natural and effective ways to help their children express optimal health. Chiropractic care does exactly that! When a child’s nervous system is free of interference, they can develop and function at their peak. They may also experience fewer colds and other illnesses, and not miss many school days like their peers.
Childhood conditions that can be helped by chiropractic include
- Colic, constipation and other digestive issues
- Sleep disturbance and lack of energy in children who are under-rested, overstimulated or stressed out at home or school.
- Neck pain, headaches and backaches caused by poor posture, long hours of sitting at a desk or playing video games, or being involved in sports not closely supervised by adults.
- ADHD and other behavioral issues caused by brain stress due to lack of restorative sleep, physical trauma/injury, nutritional deficiencies or overstimulation from electronics use and highly digitalized schools.
- Ear infections and other ear-related issues that may be caused by misaligned or “stuck” vertebrae in the neck, which can put pressure on the nerves leading to the ears.
- Scoliosis and other postural problems caused by long hours of sitting at a desk, incorrect ergonomics, or poor physical coordination due to lack of movement and exercise during the school year.
- Fitness or weight problems caused by lack of physical activity and movement, poor nutrition and stress, including anxiety and depression.
Teaching Parents Techniques to Use at Home
In addition to providing care to children, we equip parents with tools they can use at home to help their child. For example, we teach parents various techniques.
For example, if your child starts running a fever, Dr. Wipperman can show you acupressure points that you can rub that help relax your child’s body. We also teach parents a tummy rub and how to massage some neuro-lymphatic points around their child’s neck and collarbone areas. By empowering parents with these tools, they can help their child at home when the practice is closed.
